Skoda started at August 28 the production of the new Fabia at its plant in Mladá Boleslav. The first Fabia that passed the production line was painted in blue with the model being presented in the Paris auto show next October.

The third generation of the small hatchback, will be available with two petrol and two diesel engines. On the basis of the range will be a 1 liter 3 cylinder MPI engine with 60 hp and there will also be a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder TSI, producing up to 110 hp. On the diesel side, there is a new three-cylinder 1,4 liter common-rail engine with an aluminum block producing 75 and 105 hp, later towards the end of 2015 a GreenLine version will be added with a 75 hp engine, which will have a start/stop system, kinetic energy recovery system, low friction tires and some aerodynamic modifications that will allow the new Fabia to consume just 3.1 liters/100 km, with emissions of 82 gr/km of. The weight of the new Fabia will be 65 kilos less than its predecessor. Consequently, the basic model with the 1 liter MPI engine will weigh only 980 kilos.
