Porsche organized an event the previous days in which it presented the final production version of the 918 Spyder.
At the Nürburgring Porsche has already made a time of 7:14 but it’s target is a time under 7 minutes. The 918 Spyder has five modes
E-Power, Hybrid, Sport Hybrid, Race Hybrid and Hot Lap and an average fuel consumption of nearly 3 litres/100 km !
It weighs 1,640 kg (with the Weissach package) and has a weight distribution of 57% on the rear axle and 43% on the front. It produces 887 horsepower and 1.273 Nm of torque. It has an 0-100 km/hour acceleration of 2.8 seconds, and 0-302 km/h in 23 seconds, reaching a top speed of 343 km/hour.
The engine consists of a 4.6-liter eight-cylinder engine producing 608 horsepower with a rev limiter at 9,150 rpm combined with two electric motors, with the one placed in the front producing 95 kW (130 horses).
The motors are powered by a battery pack with 315 cells. These charge through simple household outlet in 4 hours, but using a quick charger, the time is reduced to just 25 minutes.
