Audi has announced that they started the development process of new laser Matrix front lights. The new lights are designed to provide better illumination compared to the Matrix LED lights. The new lights will feature blue laser diodes, that project light onto a moving mirror of a size of just 3 mm. The mirror directs the blue beam on a transformer that changes the light from blue to white, and then displays in on the road.
The new Matrix laser lights will be active and when the vehicle is moving at low speeds, they will distribute the light in a larger viewing area, illuminating in this way a very wide range. When the car moves at higher speeds, the light distribution angle becomes smaller, with the intensity and range of the light to grow significantly.
