BYD decided to test the Tang versus the BMW X6 and the Volkswagen Tiguan. The “competition” had two main tests: “Climbing” in a slope of 20% and tug of war on ice. The Tang is equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a two-liter, turbo petrol engine that delivers 205 hp with 320 Nm of torque and two electric motors that deliver 150 hp with 200 Nm of torque each.
The entire hybrid set of the car produces 505 hp with 720 Nm of torque and it is combined with a 6 speed automatic transmission. You can see the results of the “competition” in the video below.
