The new generation of the Audi A8 will go on sale in the first half of 2017 and it will have a semi-autonomous driving system, OLED lights and an infotainment system that supports gestures.
The car will be available with a V6 turbo diesel engine that delivers 286 hp with 620 Nm of torque, which will replace current 3 liter TDI that produces 258 hp with 580 Nm of torque, while the top of the range will be equipped with a 6 liter W12 engine. The engines will be combined with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox. The S8, will be equipped with a 4 liter V8 TFSI twin-turbo which produces 580 hp with 800 Nm of torque.
The next generation of the A8 will borrow design elements from the Prologue concept and Avant Concept. The new A8 will have similar dimensions as the current generation and it will weigh 200 kg less, since it will be built on a new platform of aluminum, composites and high-strength steel.
