Daihatsu presented two new concepts of the Copen that will make their official debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon in mid January. Both cars are very close to their production version.

The first one is based on the Copen Cero and it has a hardtop roof and round taillights. The other prototype is based on the Copen Robe and it is a Shooting Brake, which has also a hardtop roof.
The cars are based on the D-frame, which is three times more powerful than that of the previous generation, while it weighs 40 kg more than its predecessor and mechanically it is available with a 660 cc naturally aspirated 12-valve three-cylinder engine producing 64 hp and 92 Nm of torque, available with a five-speed manual or a CVT gearbox that sends the power to the front wheels.
