After the presentation of the S-Class Coupe in early February, Mercedes-Benz presents officially, it strongest version, the S63 AMG Coupe.
The S63 AMG Coupe, has a discreet and modest exterior. Excesses would have no place in such a stylish car like the S-Class Coupe. The airways are bigger, the side skirts are more muscular, and at the back the chrome quad exhaust tailpipes and the black diffuser stand out. The car stands on 19 inch AMG forged alloy wheels with tires 255/45 front and 285/40 rear.
The car is equipped with a 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 585 hp with 900 Nm of torque. The S63 AMG Coupe has 41 horsepower more 100Nm more torque than the outgoing CL63 AMG. Besides the extra horsepower and torque, the S63 AMG Coupe weighs 65 kilos less than the CL63 AMG. The engine is combined with a 7 speed automatic transmission that offers three modes of operation (C: Controlled Efficiency, S: Sport and M: Manual). Thanks to this, the rear-wheel drive Coupe takes just 4.3 seconds to reach the 100 km/h from a standstill while the top speed is as usual limited to 250km/h. If the buyer chooses the 4MATIC version, the 0-100km/h can be achieved 0.4 seconds faster.
Of course , the S63 AMG Coupe is equipped (or can be equipped ) with all the technological goodies of the new Mercedes S-Class. It uses the AIRMATIC air suspension and the MAGIC BODY CONTROL, while the “Active Curve Tilting Function” system is available as an extra, a system that works together with the Active Body Control and two cameras on the front of the car. When the system detects a turnof up to 15 meters ahead of the vehicle, it begins to ” tilt ” the car up to 2.5 degrees (like a motorcycle) to reduce the longitudinal acceleration felt by passengers. In addition , the S63 AMG Coupe is available with carbon composite brakes and the 20 inch AMG Performance Studio alloy wheels, while at the interior, the prospective buyer can place sport seats, Nappa leather lining and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
The S63 AMG Coupe, will be available in the “Edition 1” version for the first year of its sales. This edition will be fitted with Swarovski crystals on the front LED lights , sport seats clad in Nappa leather, special floor mats, the Night View Assist Plus system , wooden decorative in a black color etc.
The car will make its official debut at the exhibition in New York next month. The orders for the four-wheel drive version will start in April and for the RWD in July. The first deliveries will start in September.
