Toyota, unveiled the 2015 TS040 Hybrid. In 2014, the TS040 Hybrid was able to complete the season by winning five of their eight matches of the World Endurance Championship
The 2015 TS040 Hybrid has no significant mechanical changes with the previous year’s model. This means that it is still equipped with an atmospheric V8 engine of 520 hp, which is combined with two electric motors of 480 hp for a combined yield of around 1,000 hp.
The Toyota TS040 Hybrid is the only car in this year’s LMP1 category with an atmospheric V8 engine asAudi is using a turbo diesel V6 (Audi) and Nissan is using a twin-turbo V6 petrol engine.
One of the two Toyota TS040 Hybrid will be driven by Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson and Kazuki Nakajima while the second one by Mike Conway, Stephane Sarrazin and Alex Wurz.
