The new Chevrolet Malibu will be available in a hybrid version, called Malibu Hybrid, which will features a powertrain similar to that of the new Volt.
The car is equipped with a four-cylinder 1.8 liter petrol engine and the electric motor of the Volt, which is slightly modified. The powertrain delivers a total of 182 hp, with the electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery of 1,5 kWh. The car will have an average fuel consumption of 5.2 liters/100 km and it will be able to have a top speed of 86 km/h, when it uses only its electric motor.
