Lotus unveiled its own LMP1 racer. The P1/01 will run for the first time in the 6-hour endurance race at the Circuit of the Americas in September with Christijan Albers, Christophe Bouchut, Thomas Holzer, Pierre Kaffer and James Rossiter as drivers.
The Lotus LMP P1/01 weighs 850 kilos, it will run in the LMP1 L privateer racing class, it is equipped with a carbon monocoque chassis and it is painted in the colors of Lotus. Mechanically it is equipped with a V8 twin-turbo AER engine combined with a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
