Mercedes-Benz has revealed the GLS. The model is described as “the S-Class of SUVs” and it features LED daytime running lights, a beautiful grille and alloy wheels.
In the US, the Mercedes-Benz GLS will be available in 4 versions. The basic one is the GLS 450 driven by a 3 liter, twin-turbo V6 that delivers 362 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Just above it is the GLS 550 that is equipped with a biturbo V8, delivering 455 hp and 699 Nm of torque and at the top of the petrol engine range we find the GLS 63 that produces 577 hp and 760 Nm of torque. The only diesel engine available in the GLS, is a turbocharged V6 on the GLS 350d that delivers 255 hp and 616 Nm of torque. All engines are combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Its interior features an 8 inch touch screen for the infotainment system and a three-spoke steering wheel. Finally, the car has a wide range of safety systems, such as: Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, cruise control, ESP and electronic all-wheel drive with 4ETS. Optionally, the 2017 GLS can be equipped with many other security systems.
