Nissan presented at the Tokyo auto show, the IDS concept, which is a foretaste of the next generation of the Nissan Leaf. The IDS Concept is a pure electric, four-seat prototype with a carbon fiber bodywork. The design of the grille mimics a stack of ice cubes, while the model has also “boomerang” lights on the front.

The interior can be configured in two ways depending on the “mode” selected by the driver: Manual Drive or Piloted Drive. In the first mode, the driver controls the vehicle and the lighting of the cabin is blue because according to Nissan, it helps the driver to concentrate. In the second mode, however, things change inside the IDS concept. The steering wheel and dashboard “hide” and a large screen is positioned on their place. All seats are tilted toward the center to create the feel of a living room and the lighting is more “gentle”.

The IDS concept features a large battery of 60 kWh, which according to Nissan is big enough for long trips. Other technical specifications of the car were not published by the Japanese company.
