Peugeot presented the Quasar in 1984, the car had a design that was inspired by the spaceships of science fiction movies of the 80s.

The futuristic sports prototype was designed by Peugeot’s design center in La Garenne as a pure design study and it was not intended to pass in production.
It was based on the chassis of the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 and it was equipped with a 1.6 liter four-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing 600 hp with 490 Nm of torque.
The power was transferred to all four wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The car also featured a navigation system and a Clarion audio system.
