What do you do if you have lots of free time and you are an awesome engineer? … you build a 12-rotor Wankel engine that can produce up to 5,000 hp. That is at least what Tyson Garvin did.
The engine has a capacity of 15.7 liters, almost twice the capacity of the 8.0 liter W16 engine of the Bugatti Veyron and weighs 400 kilos, about three times more than an average engine on an everyday car.
It has only 19 moving parts and this it can yield approximately 1,400 hp with 1.100 Nm torque. However, Garvin says that when the engine will be equipped with turbos and it will consume racing fuel, it can produce up to 5,000 hp at 14,000 rpm! It would be a good engine for the Devel Sixteen.
