Rumors: The Mini Countryman will be offered in an off-road version

The Mini Countryman is not a pure off-road vehicle, but an urban crossover with a premium feel. According to rumors though, Mini will release a special edition of the Countryman with increased off road capabilities.

The car will have an increased ground clearance and different front and rear bumpers. The new Countryman uses the UKL2 platform, the same one used by the BMW 2-Series and X1, which has increased rigidity, which definitely will help to create an off-road version of the car.

The victories of Mini in the rally Paris-Dakar, will surely have a positive impact on the development of the car.
