Detroit Electric unveiled the production version of the SP: 01. The car is based on the Lotus Exige and it is equipped with an electric motor producing 207 kW (281 hp) with 280 Nm of torque, with the 0-100 km/hour to come in 3.7 seconds, having a top speed of 250 km/hour.
Compared with the prototype the car features a new front air intake and vents on the bonnet. It will be sold by the beginning of 2015 in Asia, Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East, with its production to be made at the newly built factory of the company in England.
