Chevrolet released two new teaser photos of the 6th generation of the Camaro that will be presented on May 16, while also announcing that the car will weigh at least 90 kilo less than the current generation.

The new Camaro will be built on the Alpha platform of GM. Its front and rear suspensions will be made of aluminum, with the links in some versions, to be constructed of a rigid composite material lighter than aluminum. These materials will make the suspension of the new Camaro weigh 21% less than that of the current generation. The reduced weight will give the car better handling and better performance.
The new Camaro will be “a really new car” with 70% of its parts being new. The car will be available with a V6, a 6.2 liter V8 and a two-liter, four-cylinder engine producing close to 280 hp. The car will be manufactured at GM’s plant in Lansing Grand River.
