Toyota presented the TNGA platform, which will be used by half of the model in its range until 2020. The name of the platform stands for Toyota New Global Architecture and it is assembled with the “lightest and most compact” parts, which allow an overall improvement in terms of efficiency and costs.
The first car based on this new platform will be a “vehicle of medium size with front-wheel drive”, which will probably debut after this year.
The platform will be combined with a new generation of engines, which will have “very high efficiency”, which would be linked to a potential lower consumption of 25%.
