The model is equipped with a four-cylinder 1.5 liter gasoline engine that delivers 101 hp at 5,600 rpm, combined with an electric motor powered by a 18.4 kWh battery, which is 12% more efficient and weighs 45 kg less than the battery used on the first generation of the Volt. The combined horsepower reaches 149 hp and the torque reaches 398 Nm.

In the US the price of the car will start from $34,000, $1.200 cheaper than the previous generation, but after the discount offered by the government the price of the Volt starts from $26.495, while in the state of California they offer an additional $2,000 discount, with the price of the car dropping to $24,995.
