Toyota announced that GAZOO Racing will participate in the 24 hours of Nurburgring with three different cars. The most interesting of the three, is a Lexus LFA called Code X. The vehicle is described as an «enhanced sports car research vehicle» which simply means that this is a car that will be used as a test bed to test future technologies.
What makes the LFA Code X even more interesting is that Toyota refused to get into details. All they said is that the Code X has ” a full carbon body/chassis to improve stiffness and reduce weight” while it is equipped with a V10 5.3 liter engine. Apart from the LFA Code X, GAZOO Racing will use a Toyota GT86 and a “simpler” Lexus LFA at Nurburgring.
