Rare Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole heads to auction

The Lamborghini Countach is one of the most iconic supercars of the 1970s and one of the cars that made Lamborghini known to many people. The Countach, was the first car of the company with the characteristic “scissor doors” that opened upwards, which were originally designed as a necessity, because the car was so wide, that someone could not go out of it, with ease.

The car was equipped with a 5.2 liter V12 engine and during its production, the company released several versions of the Countach such as the rare Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole.

The car that you see in the photo will be auctioned by Mecum auctions. It was built in February of 1988 and it has traveled 15,640 km. It features an electronic factory air conditioning, a black leather interior and it has a 5-speed manual transmission. This Countach wears factory golden wheels, the aerodynamic spoiler which costs $5,500 and it had only one owner, who bought it in Montreal by the dealership of Lamborghini.

From 1974 to 1990 the Italian company produced a total of 2.042 Countach and of these only 676 were LP5000 Quattrovalvole. The price of the car is expected to reach between $375,000 and  $425,000.
