Chevrolet presented in New York, the updated Camaro and Camaro Z/28. The revamped Camaro has new bumpers, new grille and new lights.
As for the Camaro Z/28, which Chevrolet describes as the ultimate track car, it features a new bodykit consisting of front splitter, bigger fenders, side spoilers, a diffuser, spoiler and special panel on the floor of the car. External changes are completed with quadrupal tailpipes and 19 inch wheels with Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires. At the interior it features Recaro bucket seats, a new steering wheel and brushed aluminum trim.
Under the hood lies the LS7 V8 7,0 liter engine which produces 500 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque. Combined exclusively with a Tremec 6 speed manual gearbox, the Z/28 is 3 seconds faster than the ZL1 in a test track. This is mainly due to the reduced weight (-136 kg compared to the ZL1), since the Chevrolet, among others, has placed thinner and lighter wheels. It also has Brembo brakes with carbon-ceramic discs, differential lock as well as track-spec adjustable suspension.
The Camaro MY2014 will go on sale this year with the Z/28 to begin sales in the spring of 2014.
