Audi presented the A3 Sportback e-tron in Frankfurt. The The plug-in hybrid version of the new Audi A3, will go on sale across Europe from the end of 2013 compared to the “prototype” we saw in the Geneva Motor Show , the final production version has minor changes  in design.

Mechanical it combines a 1.4 TFSI engine producing 150 hp and an electric motor producing 75 kW (102 hp ), which is powered by a battery of 8,8 kWh. The engines are mated to a 6 speed S-Tronic gearbox that transfers the power to the front wheels. Overall it produces 204 hp with 350 Nm of torque with the 0-100 km/h being completed in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 222 km/h.



The five-door A3 weighs 1,574 kilos, has an average fuel consumption of just 1.5 litres/100 km , emitting 35 gr/km of CO2 . It can move about 50 km , with a top speed of 130 km/h using only the electric motor . It can be started either only by the TFSI engine or with both engines simultaneously.

The total autonomy is 940 km and the batteries can be recharged during braking. At the interior there are several e-tron logos. The luggage compartment has been reduced to 280 liters. However by folding the rear seats , the available luggage space increases to 1,000 liters.
