The new Ferrari’s hypercar is called LaFerrari and delivers a total of 963 hp with 900 Nm torque. The 0-100 km/h is completed in less than 3 seconds, 0-200 km/h in less than 7 and 0-300 km/h in 15 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h.Luca di Montezemolo pulled the red blanket over her, revealing to the world the new hypercar of Ferrari. Just 499 LaFerrari models will be produced which have already been sold, said CEO of Fiat Sergio Marchionne. Although not officially confirmed, it costs 1.3 million euros and will be available in three colors, red, yellow and black. Montezemolo said he chose to name the carl “LaFerrari” , because that is how the name is excellent in all areas.

It offers great performance, technology innovation, style and absolute driving thrill. It has as main goal to be sold at Ferrari collectors and according to Montezemolo is a really great car, which includes advanced solutions that will be fetures in all the other Ferrari models in the future.

LaFerrari is equipped with a V12 6,3 liter naturally aspirated engine ( the same as F12berlinetta), which has been improved and produces 800 hp at 9,250 rpm and has a high compression (13,5:1). Combined with an upgraded HY-KERS system which delivers 120 kW (163 hp). Thus the total amount of horsepower is 963 horses with 900 Nm of torque. The HY-KERS system, Ferrari presented at the report of Beijing in April 2012, reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 40% while increasing performance.

The system consists of two electric motors, and it is powered by lithium ion batteries weighing 60 kg. The entire system weighs 150 kg and although the extra weight, thanks to it, the 0-200 km/h, is achieved in less than 7 seconds. The 0-100 km/h is completed in less than 3 seconds, 0-300 km/h in 15 seconds and it has a top speed of 350 km/h. Fernando Alonso has made a time of 1:20 at Fiorano with Laferrari, 5 seconds faster than the Enzo, and 3 seconds faster than the F12berlinetta.

The engine is mounted in the center and is combined with a brand new automatic double clutch 7 speed gearbox derived from Formula 1 and a new differential that sends power to the rear wheels. The tank and the batteries are installed behind the driver to lower the center of gravity.

The Italian company opted not to put in purely electric engine on LaFerrari for the sole reason that it does not fit in the car. However, in tests made, the fully electric LaFerrari had CO2 emissions of just 220 g/km. The batteries charge in various ways such as when braking and also when the V12 engine produces more torque than necessary, for example when cornering. In this case, the excess torque is converted to energyand stored in the batteries.

Weight distribution is 41% forward and 59% rear with a very low center of gravity. Its length is 4.702 mm, width 1.992 mm, height 1.116 m and wheelbase 2.650 mm. The front suspension consists of a double wishbone while in the rear there is a multi-link with SCM-E Frs magnetic springs. It is equipped with 19  inch wheels in front and 20 inch wheels on the rear, with Pirelli P-Zero tires of dimensions 265/30 and 345/30 respectively. The brakes are carbon-ceramic derived from Brembo and have discs of 398 × 36 mm at the front and 380 × 34 mm at the rear.

Ferrari has equipped the car with ESC, EF1-Trac (F1 electronic traction control integrated with the hybrid system), e-Diff 3 (third generation electronic differential lock) while the aerodynamics are active, moving rear spoiler and moving diffuser with braking from 200 to 0 km/h being comlpeted in just 115 meters.

The body is made out of carbon and aluminum and weighs 1270 to 1280 kg. The Ferrari balanced the additional weight of the batteries, reducing the weight of the chassis and the engine. The  lithium-ion batteries that the HY-KERS uses, are from Samsung Electronics, with Ferrari putting them in their own packages on the floor of the frame. The carbon monocoque chassis weighs close to 70 kg, 20% less than it weighs on the Enzo chassis with torsional rigidity being increased by 27%, while the overall stiffness by 22%.The doors open upwards with all settings being made through the steering wheel.

The designer of LaFerrari is called Flavio Manzoni. LaFerrari has an innovative design that maintains close ties with the tradition of the brand. The car has a sharp, downward-sloping nose and a very low bonnet.
