Imperia Automobile is a small Belgian automaker that was established in 1900 and is now releasing in production the Imperia GP. The design and construction of the new car started in 2008. The car has a retro design that resembles that of Wiesmann and Morgan. It is equipped with a turbo 1.6 liter engine from PSA which is combined with an electric motor.
The 1.6 liter engine produces210 horsepower with 250 Nm of torque while the electric motor produces 150 horsepower with 350 Nm of torque. Together the combined power reaches 350 hp and 610 Nm of torque, the 0-100 km/h is achieved in 4 seconds with a top speed of 216km/h. The average consumption is 1.9 litres/100 km and 50 g/km of CO2 emissions. The car has a range of 60 kilometers using only the electric motor and the time to fully recharge it is 4.5 hours.
It costs $160,000 while later there will be an entry-level version that will cost $125,000. Initially the company aims to produce 200 cars annually.
