Mercedes-Benz officially announced the GLA Concept which will be presented at Shanghai on Saturday. The concept features a steeply raked windshield, roof rails, strongly inflated wings, LED lights and a carved hood.
It is equipped with a 2.0 liter turbo engine producing 211 horsepower. Combined with a seven-speed 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. It has 20 inch rims with tires measuring 255/45. It has a length of 4.383 mm, width of 1.978 mm and a height of 1.579 mm.
The production version of the GLA will be presented at the Frankfurt this September and it will be placed opposite of the Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The crossover version of the A-Class will keep the wheelbase of the A-Class (2.700 mm), but it will be 110 mm longer than the A-Class and mechanicaly, it will probably be equipped with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as the new A-Class. An AMG version, will also be presented with the same 2.0 liter turbo four-cylinder engine as the A45 AMG producing 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
It will be available with automatic and manual transmission with the power being sent to all four wheels. The construction will be done in the factory of Mercedes in Kecskemet Hungary, where the B-Class and the CLA are made.
