The Nissan ZEOD RC, debuted last weekend on the track of Fuji. The race car of Nissan, which will participate in the 24-hour race of Le Mans in 2014, is essentially the closed hybrid version of the Deltawing.
Nissan will race it in the 24 -hour endurance race of Le Mans in 2014 in the category Garage 56. The name comes from the acronym for “Zero Emissions On Demand” and mechanically, it features electric motors and an internal combustion engine .
The ZEOD RC combines a 1.600 liter turbo engine and an electric motor that produce together 300 hp and help it reach a top speed of 300 km / h. Both engines are combined to a 5-speed sequential gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel.
The technology of the batteries which supply the electric motors derives from the Nissan Leaf, and it also features a system of energy recovery during braking.
