Renault is going to launch a crossover version of the Scenic which will be called Scenic XMOD and will be equipped with a 1.4 liter turbo engine with 130 hp and will make it’s premiere in March in Geneva, along with the renewed Grand Scenic. It will be released only as a front-wheel drive.
Aside from the aesthetic changes, the new Renault front and daytime running LED lights , the Scenic XMOD has plastic protectors on the sides, exclusive design alloy wheels and has a biger distance form the ground.
At the base of the center console there is the rotary switch for the Grip Xtend traction system for the first time in a model of Renault. In «EXP» (Expert) mode the system controls the brakes, without interfering with the engine torque. The «Road» mode is activated automatically at speeds above 40 km / h, while in the «Loose Ground» mode manages the brakes and engine torque for safer behavior under difficult conditions.
The engines of the Scenic XMOD and the renewed Grand Scenic will include among others the 1.4 liter TCe with 130 PS, which in combination with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a start/stop system will offer reduced fuel consumption by 1 lt/100 km compared to the previous version.
The steering wheel rim has a flat bottom, while aluminum has been used at the pedals and the gear selector.
