The Chief operating officer of Renault, Carlos Tavares, in an interview with Autocar has revealed new details about the production version of the Alpine A110.Tavares said that the model will be placed opposite of the Alfa Romeo 4C and it will be targeted at younger audiences.
The Alipne A110 has a muscular and aggressive design with four headlights and side air intakes. Despite the retro details, Renault’s designers will try to keep up with modern dynamic proportions.
It will be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine producing 280 hp, which will be combined with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic EDC double clutch gearbox. It weighs close to 1,000 kg and has a tubular chassis made of steel, aluminum and other composite materials.
It will be presented in late 2015 with sales to begin in 2016. It’s price will be close to £ 50.000 (€ 58.300) in England, with Renault wanting to build “a few thousand” vehicles annually.
