Rumors around the web say that the design of the BMW M2 could be influenced by the BMW Vision Gran Turismo concept.
Apparently the rear air intakes of the prototype and the diffuser appear to have been taken from the virtual concept. The compact coupe car will also have vertical rear reflectors as seen on the new X5 M and X6 M integrated at the vertical air intakes.
Other similarities with the Vision Gran Turismo concept can be seen on the side air intakes. As for the wheel arches, they will be decidedly less flashy than those of the 1M Coupe.
The production of the new BMW M2 will start from the coming November and the car will be equipped with a 3.0 liter six-cylinder in-line turbo engine producing close to 380 hp. The power will be passed to the rear axle through a 6-speed manual transmission. The xDrive all-wheel drive will be optional and deliveries of the M2 will start from the beginning of 2016.
