Volvo Polestar Racing unveiled the S60 racing car that will participate in this year’s V8 Supercars Championship.
The car has a Valvoline livery and it is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5 liter V8 engine, which using E85, produces 650 hp with 660 Nm of torque while the limiter is located at 7,500 rpm, the power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a transaxle 6 speed sequential gearbox with integrated differential spool.
The suspension of the S60 V8 Supercar is a double wishbone at the front and an independent one at the back, the shocks are from Ohlins. It stands on forged 18 inch alloy wheels with Dunlop tires while the necessary braking force is provided by four ventilated disc brakes with 395mm at the front and 355mm at the rear with 6 piston and 4 piston calipers respectively. Finally, the weight of the car is 1,410 kilos with the driver.
Thanks to this, the S60 racing car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 3.2 seconds while it has a top speed of 185 miles per hour (298km/h). The car will make its debut in the Syndey Motorsport Park during tests before the first race in early March.
