Then the car was later moved to the Ford plant in Dearborn, where it was used as a promotional car by the promotion section of the company, while the next years, it took part in a series of SCCA events, where it was used in demonstration laps.

A little later, it was painted in red and was bought by a collector in Ohio, but after a snowstorm, it was badly damaged and in 1969 it was bought by an engineer who repaired it and then sold it.

In the next ten years it changed four owners and in the 80s it was painted in a dark green metallic color with yellow details and it was upgraded to 450 hp thanks to the increase of the capacity of its V8 engine from 302 to 351 cubic inches (4.9 to 5.7 liters).

In recent years, it has gotten a modern suspension system with adjustable shock absorbers of Koni and in the next month this particular GT40 will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in Pebble Beach, where it is expected to reach a selling price between $3.75 and $4.25 million!
