Ariel in the “Autosport International” exhibition on January 9, will present the Nomad, the “off-road brother of the Atom”, as described by the company. Today the British company gave some photos of the model and the official technical characteristics.
The car is based on the Atom, having increased ground clearance, off-road tires sized 235/70/15, suspension with long stroke and a tubular space frame which protects passengers in the event of a rollover.
It weighs 670 kilos and it is equipped with a 2.4 liter Honda engine that delivers 235 hp at 7,200 rpm with 300 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The power passes to the road via a six-speed manual gearbox, of Honda, and a locking limited slip differential. The 0-96 km/h is achieved in 3.4 seconds, having a top speed of 201 km/h. The Ariel Nomad will start being sold in England from summer with a price of £ 27.500 (excluding VAT).
