Eric Kim, who recently graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA has created this futuristic racing prototype of Audi for endurance racing. The car is called Airomorph and shows us how Kim imagines the future of Audi at Le Mans. The car has adjustable fabric panels that refine the aerodynamics of the car as it runs, technology inspired from race boats.
The philosophy of the body resembles that of the BMW Gina, although Kim says that it was not the inspiration for the design. The body is made of a single piece, resistance to stretching, which is positioned above the chassis.
The Airomorph definitely shows us an interesting view of the future and a clever way for the effect of active aerodynamic parts. Finally,Eric is now working as a car designer at Ford in Irvine, California.
