Audi wanting to pay tribute to the R8, presented the Competition version of the model, which will debut in Los Angeles next month.
With the development of the new model being in the final stages, the R8 Competition is described by the company as the most powerful production Audi ever built. This is because the 5.2 liter V10 engine delivers 570 hp while combined to the seven-speed S automatic transmission that sends the power to all wheels. These characteristics allow the German sports car to accelerate from 0 km/h to 96 km/h in 3.2 sec, while the top speed reaches 320 km/h, which makes the R8 Competition the fastest R8 ever produced.
The styling changes are limited, the model has several elements from the R8 LMS. It features various matte carbon elements, such as a rear spoiler, front spoiler, bumper blades, mirror caps and rear diffuser. Also, it wears alloy wheels and exhaust tailpipes painted in black, with the large ceramic brakes having red calipers.
The interior features several matte carbon details and illuminated an “R8 competition” sill. Production will be limited to 60 cars and the model will only available for the US market.
