BMW three and a half years after the presentation of the second generation of the 1 Series, presented the facelift model. The revamped 1 Series will be presented at the Geneva auto show this March and it features a significantly altered front, new thinner lights, similar to those of the 2 Series, which feature LED daytime running lights on all versions.
The German hatchback has acquired a new center console and a 6.5 inch screen, with the controller to be mounted in the center console. Optionally a navigation system with an 8.8 inch display can be installed, the German company has re-designed the buttons on the radio and air conditioning, while the vents have chrome surroundings. Finally, the dual-zone air conditioning has white light during the day and at night orange.
The car will be available with the engines of the current generation and the new 1.5 liter three cylinder engines, in the 116i and 116d versions. The 116i will be equipped with a three cylinder 1.5 liter engine producing 109 hp at 4,500 and 180 Nm of torque from 1,250 rpm. The car is able to do the 0-100 km/h in 10.9 sec, while its top speed is 195 km/h. The average gross consumption is 5.4 liters/100 km with 126 gr/Km emissions of CO2.
The 118i will be equipped with a four-cylinder 1.6 liter engine producing 136 bhp at 4,400 and 220 Nm between 1,350 and 4,300 rpm. It will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 8.5 sec, while its top speed is 210 km/h with either manual or automatic transmission. The average gross consumption is 5.7 liters/100 km, while the CO2 emissions reach 133 gr/Km.
The 125i will be equipped with a two liter engine producing 218 hp at 5,000 rpm and 310 Nm torque from 1,350 rpm up to 4800. It will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 6.4 sec and its top speed reaches 245 km/h . The average gross consumption reaches 6.7 liters/100 while the CO2 emissions reach 157 gr/km.
At the top there is the M135i, which will be equipped with a six-cylinder in-line 3 liter engine delivering 326 hp at 5,800 rpm, with 450 Nm of torque from 1,300 to 4,500 rpm. It will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 5,1 sec, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, with consumption reaching 8 liters/100 km.
The 125d will be equipped with the same engine as the current generation producing 224 hp at 4,400 rpm and 450 Nm from 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. The car will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 6.3 sec, having a top speed of 240 km/h and an average fuel consumption of 4.6 liters/100 km, while emitting 121 gr/km of CO2.
