BMW, today presented an M4 named “Concept Iconic Lights”. The BMW i8 was the first production vehicle in the world with optional laser lights and the German company is now ready to equip their lights in all their future vehicles.
The M4 Concept Iconic Lights are equipped with the next generation of large laser beams that can provide illumination of up to 600 meters ahead of the vehicle cooperating with a dimming system developed so as to not “blind” the front running or passing vehicles.
Apart from the front lights, the M4 Concept Iconic Lights have also new rear lights, with OLED technology, that produces light from extremely thin layers of semiconducting, organic materials. This is the first time that OLED technology has been used for both the tail lights and for the turn indication lights, while according to BMW, the thickness of the OLED elements does not exceed 1.4 mm.
