BMW presented officially at the Guangzhou auto show, the BMW 1-Series Sedan. The model will be sold exclusively in China, where it will also be manufactured. It will be the main competitor of the Mercedes CLA and the Audi A3 Sedan.
The model will be based on the UKL front-wheel drive platform and it will be available with three-cylinder and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, among which there will be a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 231 hp, which according to the company “guarantees unparalleled driving pleasure”. The engines will be available with either a 6-speed mechanical or with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with the car having three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Eco Pro) and an energy recovery system during braking.
Its interior is almost identical to that of the X1 and 2 Active Tourer, it has a big 8.8-inch screen in the center of the dashboard, a head-up display, leather upholstery and a multifunctional steering wheel.
In terms of security systems, BMW equips the model with several systems such as Lane Departure Warning, Collision Warning and Emergency Assistance.
