BMW has kept the production of the i8 low to make the car more coveted and unique, but the long waiting list is eventually affecting the sales more than expected. Today the waiting list for an i8 goes over one year.
BMW has made the decision to increase the production of the i8 at the Leipzig factory, but for this to happen they will reduce the production of the i3 as it is made in the same factory.
