The BMW M1 was presented at the Paris auto show in 1978 and it was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It was developed in collaboration with Lamborghini and it was initially intended only for racing use. The great appeal of the car to the public, led BMW to produce it in an extremely limited production of 456 units.
The car was equipped with an atmospheric 3.5 liter engine, producing 277 hp, combined with a manual 5-speed gearbox, that anabled it to have a top speed that reaches 260 km/h.
