DS Automobiles announced the creation of their racing department, which is called DS Performance. This new section will have its seat in the PSA Excellence Center in Satory, France and it will be directed by Yves Matton.
The main objective of DS Performance is supporting the efforts of DS Virgin Racing, that will participate in the Formula E championship with the DSV-01. The car will feature an electric motor, a gearbox, a rear suspension and a sophisticated cooling system from DS, but according to CEO of DS Automobiles, Yves Bonnefont, DS Performance will not only be a laboratory of R & D.
With the upcoming models of the DS and the Peugeot-Citroen to focus on hybrid technology, the expertise of DS Performance, will be used to pass racing technology to ordinary cars in the years to come.
