As expected, Opel presented at the Geneva Motor Show the Adam Rocks, which is described Adam Rocks as an “urban mini crossover”.
It has quite muscular features and bold design, it features an electric soft top, providing the possibilities of a convertible car. The Adam Rocks is taller by 15 mm. and wider than the “simple” Adam. The black protective aprons along the body with brushed aluminum details stand out. The front trapezoidal grille has a chrome center line and along with the chrome details in the contour of the roof they give a tone of luxury to the small car. It also features LED daytime running lights, fog lights and a roof spoiler.
The fabric liner extends across the entire width and length of the roof until the C columns and it requires only 5 seconds to open or close. It is noteworthy that the fabric roof has no negative impact on body rigidity or functionality of the car. It has thick acoustic insulation, it is robust and it consists of three layers of fabric with the center being neoprene giving tightness and durability. It is available in three exterior colors (black , brown and light oak), combined with the different colored roof of Adam Rocks.
The Adam Rocks will be equipped with the new 1 liter 3 cylinder ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine producing 115 hp and 166 Nm of torque. The power is transferred to the front axle via a new 6 speed manual gearbox while the Adam Rocks will have the same engine range as the regular Adam, a naturally aspirated 1.2 liter petrol engine producing 70 hp and a 1.4 liter engine , producing 87 or 100 hp.
Production of the Opel Adam Rocks will start next August at the company’s factory in Eisenach, Germany.
