Tata brought in the Geneva Motor Show three cars presented one month before at New Delhi. The ZEST sedan and BOLT hatchback, are the first cars of the Indian automotive industry, featuring a new design philosophy, which is called DesignNext. They are based on the X1 platform, with both models to hit the markets in India later this year, with sales in the rest of the world to start later.
The ZEST has a length of 3,995 mm, width of 1.695 mm and a height of 1.570 mm. It weighs 1,106 kilos and the interior of both models features infotainment with a 5 inchTouch Screen, Bluetooth and voice command system.
Both cars twill be equipped with a new four-cylinder turbo Revotron engine producing 85 hp at 5,000 rpm with 140 Nm of torque between 1750-3000 rpm , and also there will be an option of a 1.3 liter Quadrajet diesel derived from Fiat, producing 90 hp at 4,000 rpm with 200 Nm of torque, which will be combined with a 5 -API AMT (automated manual) gearbox.
The Nexon Compact SUV Concept is a compact crossover based on the new X1 platform of the Indian Company. It is described as a modern and youthful compact SUV, showing the new design identity of Tata.
It has increased ground clearance with the production version to be equipped with the turbo 1.2 liter Revotron engine producing 83 hp with 140 Nm of torque and also the 1.3 liter Quadrajet engine of Fiat. The Nexon Compact SUV will go on sale in 2015.
