GM will offer a new V8 turbo diesel Duramax 6.6-liter engine for the Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra MY2017, that produces 445 hp with 1,234 Nm of torque, to compete with the Super Duty models of Ford.
The new engine benefits from a redesigned air intake, with the models to become available in the coming months. The new engine will be built at GM’s plant in Moraine, Ohio and it will be combined with an Allison 1000 transmission.
