This is my first article for Vehiclejar Blog, so I decided to write about my favorite road bicycle, the Koga Miyata Pro-Racer.
Koga was founded in 1974 by Andries Gaastra with the addition of Miyata on the name coming later, when the two companies started their collaboration. The company became famous in the 80s, because the IJsboerke cycle team that they were sponsoring won a stage in the Tour de France at the Alpe d’Huez. All the bicycles of the company were assembled by hand and featured mostly high-end Shimano parts.
The Pro-Racer is one of the most sought after Koga Miyata at the moment with its value being over $800 in good condition, the bike is just stunning to look at. The frame of the bike was available from 54 and went up to 64 centimeters. It was originally equipped with a Shimano Dura Ace rear derailleur and Shimano Dura Ace shifters and brakes. It was available in many colors with the most sought after ones being blue and orange.
