Thanks to the two turbos the engine delivers 462 hp and 600 Nm of torque in the standard version and 510 hp and 650 Nm torque at  the AMG GT S version. This means specific output of around 128 hp and 163.2 Nm per liter. The weight of the engine is not more than 209 kg. In the “simple” GT version, it has an average consumption of 9.3 liters/100 km and emits 216 g/km CO2, in the GT S version it consumes 9.4 liters/100 km and emits 219 g/km CO2.

The AMG GT weighs 1,540 kilos with the 0-100 km/h coming in 4 seconds, with a top speed of 304 km/h, the AMG GT S weighs 1,570 kilos, with the 0-100 km/h coming in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h.

The engine has a dry sump aluminum crankcase while the surface of the rollers use NANOSLIDE technology. Furthermore, the pistons are forged and springs in them, have a low coefficient of friction so as to reduce the fuel consumption and oil. The cylinder head is made of zirconium alloy. The maximum boost pressure produced by the two turbos, is 1.2 bar and the maximum rate of rotation, is 186,000 rpm. The car also features a Start / Stop system and to adequately cool the engine, there is a separate flow for the turbos.

The engine is combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends the power to the rear wheels via a limited slip differential (manual in AMG GT and electrically controlled in AMG GT S). The car has 47:53 weight distribution front/rear and the framework consists of an aluminum space frame with the suspensions having a double wishbone foil at all four corners of the car. Indeed, the suspension in GT S is regulated (AMG Ride Control) with three settings Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. Mercedes has prepared a number of options for further enhancing the dynamic coupe car, like ceramic brakes of 402 mm for the front and 360 mm for the rear forged wheels and the Dynamic Plus system for the GT S version. This changes the dynamic response of the engine, transmission and damping of the suspension when the driver drives calmly and smoothly and when the driver decides to drive faster. The system adds two more modes on the gearbox (Race and Manual), it has reconfigured steering, stiffer suspension and more negative camber on the front axle.
