BMW continues to test the new X1 in Sweden and the latest rumors say that the car will be available in a quick M35i version.
The M35i will be equipped with a 3.0 liter six-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 350 hp with the power to pass to all wheels.
The second generation of the X1 will feature LED fog lights and it will be built on the front wheel drive UKL platform. It will also be offered in four-wheel drive and it will be available in a seven-seat version. The model has been scheduled for release in the second half of 2015 and it will have smaller dimensions than those of the current generation, but it will provide more space for its passengers. The seven-seater version will have a long wheelbase and more luggage space, and it will be sold in the Chinese, the US and the Russian market.
The new generation of the X1 will be available also as a plug-in hybrid eDrive version, which will combine the three-cylinder 1.5 liter turbo engine and an electric motor, yielding together close to 200 hp, having an electric range of 30 km.
