The head of research and development of BMW, Klaus Fröhlich said that the company will decide at the end of the year on whether the next generation of the Series 1 will be rear-wheel drive or not.
The new generation of the 1 Series is expected to be released within the next three years and if eventually the company decides that it will remain rear-wheel drive, it will be built on the CLAR paltform.
