Audi presented at the 2001 Frankfurt auto show, the Avantissimo Concept, the Avant version of the A8. The car had a roof that was mostly covered with glass and panels that can absorb the sun’s energy and supply it to the air conditioning system.
The car’s body was made of aluminum, while its length reached 5,060 mm and its height 1,430 mm. It was equipped with a 4.2 liter biturbo V8 engine producing 430 hp and 810 Nm of torque with the power transferred to all four wheels via the Quattro all-wheel drive system of Audi.
