Polestar celebrates its 20 years of operation

Volvo Polestar Performance is what AMG is to Mercedes and M to BMW, that is, their special department dedicated exclusively to the sports cars of the brand. Polestar today celebrates its 20th anniversary of the Volvo 855 T5 R and decided to do so, combining past and present, that is, two sports models, the 855 T5 R and the V60 Polestar.

Polestar celebrates its 20 years of operationThe Volvo 855 T5 R was presented for the first time in 1994, it  was designed to become one of the fastest station wagon ever made. It was equipped with a five cylinder 2.3-liter turbo engine producing 240 hp with 330 Nm of torque. Combined with its four-speed automatic transmission, the station 1600 kg wagon was able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds until it reached its top speed of 245 km/h.

The Volvo V60 Polestar is equipped with a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine with 350 hp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The Scandinavian station wagon is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission which allows it to reach a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited) and it takes only 4.9 seconds to do the 0-100 km/h.
